Professional footballers were joined by children from the local community for the second annual TeamIMANI® iPAY2PLAY tournament held at Wembley on Sunday 26 May 2013.

The U11 youth tournament was played out between teams from local football clubs and primary schools. Awards were presented by Andrew Killingsworth (CEO of Yours Clothing Ltd) and Free Kicks Foundation.

Andrew Killingsworth said: “I was extremely happy to be able to lend my support to such a great cause at what was a brilliant event.”

The main event with the adults featured established football stars such as Tresor Lomana LuaLua (former Newcastle United, Portsmouth, Blackpool and DR Congo) and Gabriel Zakuani (Peterborough United FC and DR Congo), as well as up and coming professionals like Dominic Poleon (Leeds United), Jeffrey Monakana (Preston North End) , Blair Turgott (West Ham United) and many more. After some extremely competitive games, the Rest of The World team were crowned iPAY2PLAY 2013 champions after an entertaining final against the Young Gifted Fearless Team .

Papa Agyemang, Founder of TeamIMANI & iPAY2PLAY said: “We are overjoyed that LuaLua was able to come down from Turkey and support iPAY2PLAY this year. It is great to see someone of his status support such an event which uses a sport that he loves to raise funds and awareness for the people who need it most.”

Proceeds this year will be going towards supporting the ongoing works of all our causes and a research trip to Ghana where the team will coach, teach, feed and donate at orphanages and also support vulnerable people in poor areas.

iPAY2PLAY is a celebration of football consisting of 4 teams – 3 composed of professional athletes and celebrities and one made up of corporate players from the highest bidding companies.

Each participant pays and raises a minimum set fee towards their place in the team and the competition.

TeamIMANI® along with FreeKicks Foundation will provide the platform by which each participant can raise funds. Text codes will be provided to each participant to encourage donations from family, friends and fans alike.

Charities that have partnered with iPAY2PLAY and are set to benefit from the money raised include TackleAfrica, Chibsah Foundation, and Kits4Causes.

When we approached Wilf about collaborating to put something fashionable yet inspirational out there for his growing fan base through our OneIMANI Hub, he knew exactly what he wanted.
